This international meeting encourages contact between students and skilled professionals, confronting the most well-known acting methods in the world. The different techniques will be examined and implemented under the direction of theater, cinema and television professionals. This festival is the first such encounter organized between internationally recognized practitioners of the world’s most prominent acting methods, intended to specifically examine acting technique. All approaches to acting developed in last century focus on the independent work and flexibility of the actor. The actor must be able to choose, employ and master different methods, in order to strike a balance between his own vocation and the practical demands of his profession, and between his awareness as an artist and his ability to maintain contact with the audience’s expectations. Simultaneously, the festival offers writers a unique opportunity to approach their work from the perspective of the actor, developing scenes which will be rehearsed and performed by the acting participants. As theater and cinema become increasingly global, this festival provides the first Italian forum for the discussion of acting methods, intended to bring the Italian acting tradition into confrontation with other international techniques and to establish a base of integration wherein the Italian actor can prepare to take his place within the worldwide dramatic community.
